What are contraindications for Testosterone (reasons not to take the medication)?

Defy Medical evaluates each patient individually to determine whether Testosterone Replacement Therapy (TRT) is right for them. That said, there are some contraindications, including:

  • Active prostate cancer or breast cancer
  • Recent heart attack or serious cardiovascular event
  • Severely elevated hematocrit (red blood cell count)
  • A higher likelihood of forming blood clots (thrombophilia)
