Is Shockwave Therapy painful?

Back to FAQs

While everyone’s idea of pain is different, most patients report minimal pain during Shockwave Therapy. The procedure does not require numbing agents, though these can be provided upon request.

Generally, patients experience a tapping or pulsing sensation on the skin from the acoustic waves. These sensations may cause discomfort but generally are not painful.
