Does TRT affect fertility in men?
Yes, Testosterone Replacement Therapy (TRT) can impact fertility in men.
When you introduce external Testosterone into the body, the brain detects sufficient hormone levels and tells the body to reduce natural Testosterone production. This signal reduction also decreases sperm production, which can impact fertility.
Defy Medical offers protocols designed to help men maintain their fertility while on TRT. We typically prescribe Human Chorionic Gonadotropin (HCG) alongside Testosterone for men who want to preserve their fertility (as appropriate for the patient).
HCG mimics the signal that the brain sends to the testes, which can help maintain natural Testosterone production and sperm count during TRT.
If fertility is a priority for you, let your provider know during your Initial Consultation. Your treatment plan can be designed with fertility preservation in mind from the start.
For men with specific fertility concerns, your provider may recommend consulting with a reproductive specialist alongside your TRT care. While Defy Medical can support fertility within our TRT plans, we do not offer extended fertility services.
