Does Defy Medical use AI?

To support high-quality care, Defy Medical may utilize Artificial Intelligence (AI) in limited ways. These include:

  • Creating or organizing patient communications
  • Analyzing trends in de-identified data (data that has had all personal information removed)
  • Supporting internal processes to help our team serve patients more efficiently

Any use of AI involving your health information complies with HIPAA and applicable laws. We do not permit AI vendors to use your information for their own purposes, and we never use AI to sell your information or market third-party products.

All clinical decisions about your diagnosis, treatment, and care plan are made or confirmed by licensed health care professionals. AI tools may assist with organizing and analyzing information, but we do not use it to independently diagnose, prescribe, or make final treatment decisions.

AI vendors that handle your health information must sign Business Associate Agreements requiring them to protect your data with appropriate safeguards and use it only as permitted by us and by law. We regularly evaluate these vendors as part of our commitment to compliance.
