Improving your cholesterol can be accomplished with diet and exercise modification. Proper eating and some form of exercise should be the established foundation prior to beginning any treatment. Chronically poor levels of cholesterol can increase your risk of cardiovascular disease. Sometimes medical intervention is needed to help restore a proper lipid balance. Defy Medical routinely monitors all of our patient’s cholesterol and triglycerides in order to provide any treatment, when needed, towards an optimal lipid profile.
Three individual nutrients are available which have been clinically proven to improve your lipid profile. Each nutrient works differently.
Omega-3 Fish Oil
Synthesized from fish sources, Omega-3 fatty acid is used to lower elevated Triglycerides and improve cholesterol. It has been found to reduce high Triglycerides with such effectiveness that the FDA has approved it for lowering Triglycerides. Supplementing with Omega-3 has been found to increase HDL (good) cholesterol and lower VLDL (Bad) cholesterol, reducing risk factor for heart disease. Omega-3 appears to also help reduce inflammation. Our new formula contains 400 mg EPA and 300 mg DHA—the long-chain omega-3's that have been shown to support a healthy heart, normal joint flexibility and much more. The ethyl ester form of fish oil is a more concentrated source of EPA and DHA and also repeats less than other forms of fish oil. All of our omega fish oil products are derived from deep sea, cold-water fish and are independently tested for PCB's, heavy metals and other contaminants, to ensure purity.

Do you take a Statin Drug?
Statin Drugs are commonly prescribed by Doctors to patients who have high cholesterol. Nearly 60 million people will be taking statin drugs this year in the United States alone. Statins have been found to significantly lower Co-Q10 levels. Supplementing with Co-Q 10 can help restore depleted levels.
